Death and Coffee

February 6, 2018

I love to contemplate death in the morning with a cup of coffee

The ground beneath me becomes a myriad of stars

They swirl like  the milk in my cup

They dissolve and evolve then eat other

And I wash it down with a swig of coffee

Later death comes to visit me again

We sit on a bench with my head in his lap

He strokes my hair and tells me stories with no meaning

Then we make love for a million years

After returning from eternities embrace

I put the kettle back on
